Rather two-faced, he plays innocent and gets along better with people than other Pokemon, particularly those of a catlike persuasion, whom he has a tendency to harass. As a wild Pokemon, he ferociously guarded his small hoard of precious items from a curious Floppington, whose injuries Pinsy took it upon herself to repay tenfold. Anders captured the Meowth mostly to protect it from the Empress' continued wrath.

Nonetheless, the Rockruff he purchased for sentimental reasons has grown on him rather quickly, though not for the reasons he expected. The Pokemon's tendency to excitedly bounce from place to place reminds him of an entirely different dog-lover's companion from Thedas, thus Socks being renamed in a fashion similar to Robyn's Bunny.
