Anders nursed her to health after she was injured by Team Skull. Her daintiness and affections grew on him, and she adored him. She was very nervous and clumsy by nature and tended to trip on everything.
Maggie was broken-hearted at the loss of her skirt-like fur upon evolution, so Anders tailored the costume dress he wore when they met to fit her.
She grew close to Hawke as time progressed, and stayed by her side while she slept for a week. After Hawke woke up, Anders united the two by giving Maggie's ball to Hawke.

Dog Two is, in a word or two, a goof. More likely to drool on an opposing Pokemon than belch fire at them, he doesn't seem much of a threat at first, but he's quick to assert himself when his pack is threatened.
DT and Anders have had their differences since his and Hawke's arrival in Johto. Anders' disdain for the Arcanine quickly corrected itself when they lost his previous trainer, but their relationship is still somewhat strained.

Floe is a gentle creature, quiet and timid around new faces but loving to friends. In spite of her initial bashfulness, when comfortable and among familiar faces, she has quite a lot of energy to employ and enjoys a good romp with anyone willing.
Though she gets along with most people and Pokemon after getting to know them, she's particularly close to her father, Flop, and Merry the Zorua, along with their trainer, who may or may not be prone to spoiling her.

As can be expected, Lily is a caretaker first and foremost. A little bit unconventional is the sheer forcefulness she exercises to get the job done. As a Ponyta, Tiny was shier even than Maggie, to whom she tended to stick closer than the rest of the team, including her trainer himself. Over time, however, she grew more confident around more assertive creatures and learned to stop using her friend as a crutch. When she finally evolved, Anders decided to let her find her own path rather than keep her for a mount as intended. He was able to release her without worry for her ability to look after herself.

Their dynamic shifted during Fourth Wall, when in spite of Anders trying to contain and ignore her, Pumpkaboo freed herself and consoled him in a rough time.
Nutmeg has challenged his ideas about Ghost types' demeanor, but is still patient with Anders as he warms up to her. She seems to enjoy floating along a few yards in front of him.

destroydefeat them, regardless of whether or not they have shown him hostility.Thus far, Anders is the only human he's terribly close to, and Simir has been known to perch among the feathers he was named for. He enjoys occasionally participating in the antics of the other Dark types on the team, but ultimately finds Sly too small-minded and Merry too soft-hearted.

After some less volatile playtime with the team, Bean decided to accompany them.
He ate an Everstone. Anders thought people were JOKING about this shit.

Merry happened upon Anders' team while they were a bit lost in Ilex. Rather than help them directly, he took on the various forms of the team, leading them in circles and other harmless pranks. Eventually, Floe caught on that it was the same Pokemon all the while and played along, to Merry's delight. He allowed Anders to catch him upon leading them to Azalea.
Though he causes mischief as frequently as possible, Merry ensures his jokes are rarely bad-natured, and he takes great joy in the amusement of others.

In spite of being the most dragon(ling)-like Pokemon Anders has seen thus far, Vigilance is, in behavior, the farthest thing from it. She's a quiet, solemn little thing who much prefers people-watching to rampaging mindlessly.
While she seems to wallow at times in self-imposed isolation, Anders has found she makes a very willing and gentle cuddlebuddy.

Though she battled fiercely on the route, Trixie conceded to Pinsy and has been overly attached to the Skitty since joining the team.
She's a highly energetic kit of a Pokemon and is usually bounding around her partners with great enthusiasm for getting into trouble.
Trixie evolved from Shinx all the way to Luxray very suddenly, within the span of a week. Despite now being enormous, she still acts like a kitten and doesn't seem to comprehend that she's big enough to crush someone by sitting on them.

As his name implies, Sly can be a bit of a troublemaker. Rather two-faced, he plays innocent and gets along better with people than other Pokemon, particularly those of a catlike persuasion, whom he has a tendency to harass.
As a wild Pokemon, he ferociously guarded his small hoard of precious items from a curious Floppington, whose injuries Pinsy took it upon herself to repay tenfold. Anders captured the Meowth mostly to protect it from the Empress' continued wrath.

Socks is everything Anders hates in dogs -- affectionate, bumbling, and full of energy. Nonetheless, the Rockruff he purchased for sentimental reasons has grown on him rather quickly, though not for the reasons he expected. The Pokemon's tendency to excitedly bounce from place to place reminds him of an entirely different dog-lover's companion from Thedas, thus Socks being renamed in a fashion similar to Robyn's Bunny.
